Happy New Year

It's a new year and I don't feel like celebrating, allthough I should! Two kittens from my newest rescue litter were just adopted this week. It's sooooooooo hard to say "good-bye", but it must be done. They both got great homes, I'm grateful for that!

  1. I just wanted to thank Michelle and her family for the time and energy it takes to rescue the number of kittens they rescue each year. They not only take the kittens into their home where they will be safe, they then begin the long process of finding the kittens "the perfect forever home."

I was lucky enough to have adopted DJ, the little kitten that looks like Michelle's Dolly, after my 16 year old kitty, Sonic, died. I went through a rigorous interview process and a home visit from Michelle. But I appreciated the fact that she was concerned enough for DJ's well being to take the time to find him the perfect home.

DJ has settled in quite nicely. He explores every inch of my home and goes to work with me each day. I am lucky enough to homeschool children from a family who also does animal rescue and ministry. Having another pet on site is both a blessing and a joy. My students adore DJ and he loves them back. He is learning to play with a French Poodle and has a kitty playground set up in a spare room in the house. DJ runs, jumps, explores, climbs, and teases the poodle all day long.

When we are at home I lavish him with love, attention, and toys. We alternate between cuddling and playing. His purr sounds like a miniture semi truck idling at a stoplight. It's great to cuddle up at night and go to sleep with my new best friend.

In closing I would like to say that while DJ's mother was a semi feral cat, DJ is in no way anti social, hard to handle, or frightened in any way. If you want to adopt a kitten, never rule out one that has been born to a feral or semi feral cat. Just love them early and love them often and they will return the favor.

Thank you again Michelle, I adore DJ and always will!!

    Carol
